Dóttir parið, sum VP skrivaði um í gjár, hevur sent eitt skriv til landsstýrið við áheitan um at føroyska mamman og pápin sleppa í land í Føroyum, tá ið tey koma aftur við Norrønu úr Danmark.

Hon skrivar millum annað, at um foreldrini ikki fóru umborð aftur á Norrønu, so vóru tey handtikin.

Hello my faroese  is not so good so i will write you in English i do apologize for that. The older couple that came to færeyjar yesterday are my parents. My grandfather Elí Olsen from Hvandalsá, Suðurey, my mothers father was born in the Faroe Island so the roots to the Faroes are strong and as a young girl my mother went to the Faroes to work and stayed there for a while. We have a lot of relatives in the south and my parents house is in Vági, Suðurey.

They have been going to the Faroes now every year since 2004 for 16 years and sometimes 2 times a year. 

I do realize that my parents do not have Danish citizenship and that is one of the reasons that they where not allowed to come on land from the ferry because of the Corona virus and i do understand that every country has its rules concerning this and how to pro seed in opening there country for visitors.

But i have to say that after this mistake that seems to have taken place with the traveling company that they used here in Iceland and they of course had no reason to doubt  that the company had the right information in knowing that they would be able to go off the ship and enter into færeyjar that i am more concerned about my mothers health in all this.

Both my parents have had the corona test and are not sick from that, they are pensioners and my mother is also a patient. She has a heart condition, diabetes, chronic back pain and arthritis and gets seasick, so it is very difficult for her to travel and the only reason she can travel by ship to the Farrroes is the short sailing time and the feeling she gets to go back every year, going home as she puts.

She and my father where  so looking forward to getting to they're peaceful house in Vági and loving relatives after how everything has been in the world.

So understandably my sisters and i here in Iceland are very concerned about my parents safety and especially my mothers health because now they are on there way to Denmark only to sail back to the Faroese and again to Iceland.

I have sent a mail to the Landstýrið in Faroes trying to ask for any kind of help and if there is any way to help them because of our great concern for my mothers health.

It brakes our heart to think of how our mother must be feeling after have been told on the pier in Færeyjar that if she and my father would not go back on board the boat they would be arrested.

I tried everything i could to call the authorities there at the police station for more information  and was told that the captain there was busy and i asked if he would call me when he was free but after waiting for a long time and no call i called again to ask for the captain and was told he was still busy for the next ten minutes and then he would call me back, he still has not called me.

Thank god for the employee from the company Sven hu did everything he possibly could to assist my parents and get them and me information on what was going on.

The crew on board the ship are doing everything they possible can to make our parent journey as comfortable as they possible can and for that we are grateful.

I am in constant contact with my parents and talked to them late last night, my mother is very depressed over this situation and is feeling very low, only goes out of her cabin to eat, thankfully because of her diabetes and nothing else. 

And that is a great concern because of her health problems so as i say that brakes our hearts  and we pray to God that they will be alright, but what the full consequences will be for our mother health is only remains to bee seen.
